Przekaż informację zwrotnąAfter a couple of amazing wine lunches around Kelowna, Burrowing Owl's Sonora restaurant was disappointing. We started in the tasting room with the grumpiest hostess possible, she could barely bring herself to speak to us never mind smile. Sour grapes for sure. We then walked over to the restaurant and we were forcibly told to wait for Toni. Toni eventually arrived and seated us at a nice enough table on the outside terrace with a view of the vines, a swimming pool and an enormous white storage cylinder (?). The quiche and salad was actually really nice, and the tuna salad also decent. The rose and 2006 Chardonnay were pretty decent too. The service was poor and the ambience a bit odd, it didn't feel restful or enjoyable so we skipped desert and left
This is such a well laid out winery setting. It has beautiful villas and well stocked wine shop. The Sonora room resteraunt is beautifully laid out. We were seated on the patio and the view is spectacular. The menu is somewhat limited but the food was really well prepared. We had lunch there and I had the quiche it was very good. Friends had the corned beef sandwich which looked delicious. The drink menu was good a little pricey it oh well. The have a local craft beer on tap from the firehall brewery so that was awesome. This is a great place with friends or a romantic evening.
A lovely patio overlooking the vineyards and the mountains. Bathe service was excellent. Our server, a young lady from Finland, couldn't have been better: five stars for her. We shared the prawns followed by the scallops and sable fish, finishing off with the chocolate dessert. All excellent. My only criticism is that the choice of white wines is not great.
Had a lovely dinner here with some great staff and well paired wines. Really enjoyed all the food I ordered and it was served promptly the only reason I have deducted a star is because one of our party ordered the tuna starter which sounded great but was massively lacking seasoning, I'm not sure that there was in fact any salt or pepper.
Easily our finest meal in the Oliver valley. Perched overlooking the valley the terrace is mostly designed for couples with larger air conditioned seating inside. Everything was so well paced. Not rushed nor dragged out. The food was impeccable. Nice perks for both openers and closers - cold cherry soup and truffles. And delicious breads. We ordered warm olives to start. Mains were amazing. Arctic char and lamb. Both perfectly done with delightful accompaniments. Lots of pairing suggestions in the menu to help you navigate the extensive wine list.Just one caution - don't make the mistake we did and assume you'll be able to buy wine to take away at the restaurant. If you also want to shop you have to come while the wine store is still open.
