We came here with a school group, as our professor wanted to show us what it looks like in a German fast food restaurant. according to him this was a bit more noble, and I agree. the place is very clean, with cozy dining tables, but also comfortable deck chairs. art works line the wall together with some other decorations. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially if so many of us don't speak German and we are a bit of arrogant. the service was also fast and efficient. I got the curryworst, and although she wasn't necessarily stunning, she was good. the chicken of my friend was excellent and he said it tasted even better than in a finer restaurant where we were before. half the chicken was very generous in proportion and we are cooked. the selection of beer from the barrel was also very good. this is a snorkelless eating, but certainly one of the best. I felt very comfortable here.
As an international student I would certainly not have dared to eat here, so I must thank my professor for taking us on a small excursion to this place. he tried to show how a snack/cheese is to eat, and also to introduce us currywurst. I was surprised by the size of the place. it has a diner atmosphere, but is very clean and decorated with works of art. the seating ranged from standard tables/stems to more comfortable quarters. the personal was extremely friendly, especially to such a large group of English-speaking students, and despite all the chaos was very efficient with our orders. fassbiere were solid. eating was easy and ranged from recommended curry sausage (with addition options such as pommes and herbalate) to half a chicken. very tasty and well prepared; the main dishes were rustic and well seasoned. many German dishes I had were very salty, but that was exactly the right amount. my friend even argued that his chicken dish tasted better than even a nice restaurant where we were in the evening before. overall it was a solid lunch with good value for money. no fanfare here, but if you want to enjoy a cheap meal, local specialties, friendly staff and a clean venue, this is the right place.
We came here with a school group, because our professor wanted to show us how a German fast food place is. After him, that was a bit more posh, and I agree. The place is very clean, with cozy dining tables, but also corner... comfortable chair options. Artworks lines the wall along with some other decorations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially if so many of us don't speak German and we are a bit disgusting. The service was fast and efficient. I got the curry sausage, and while it wasn't necessarily about blowing, it was good. The chicken of my friend was excellent, and he said it tasted even better than a nice dining area where we were before. Half the chicken was very generous in proportion and we are cooked. Tap beer selection was also very good. This is not one-frills food, but certainly one of the best. I really enjoyed myself here.
As an international student, I would certainly not have dared for food here, so I must thank my professor for bringing us to this place on a small field trip. He tried to show how a Takeaway/Chap eating place is like and...introduce us to currywurst. I was surprised by the size of the place. It has a diner like feeling, but very clean and decorated with works of art. The seating ranges from standard tables/seals to more cozy neighborhoods. Staff were very friendly, especially for such a large group of English-speaking students, and with our orders were very efficient despite all chaos. The beers were solid. The food was simple, from the recommended curry sausage (with add-on options such as frits and coleslaw) to a full half chicken. Very tasty and well prepared; the main dishes were rustic and beautifully seasoned. Many German dishes I had were really salty, but that was exactly the right amount. My friend even argued that his chicken dish tasted better than a nice restaurant we were in the night before. Overall, it was a good lunch. No fanfare here, but if you want to enjoy a budget menu, some local specialty, friendly staff and a clean venue, this is the place.
