This is the reason for the name we believe. From entering the restaurant we were taken care of in a fantastic way. The restaurant has a fixed menu and a wine menu. We selected wines from the wine card rather than the wine menu. The dishes were all picked from the country of Norway in way of fish and meat and tasted terrificly good. We should like to eat here often but they say it is very difficult to obtain a table and the restaurant was in fact full. Our full recommendation.
Hot Shop, once a hot porn shop turned into a hot restaurant more than a year ago. It was hot from day 1. Their first fixed menue was up to ambitions, and They received super good critics, well earned! The couple running it, the chef and the sommelier, obviously knew their business... Now, a year later, their 2nd fixed menue are implemented, and WHOW, It rocks! Its one step up!! Its informal, fine dining based on friendly service, super products, threated with care, handled with love and presented with respect and estethical finesse. From my point of view (not resident in Oslo): The best meal to Get in Norway these days... and IF up to me; worth a Michelen star or two.... so, go for the hot hot HOT stuff!!!
I greatly enjoyed my dinner here. The dishes offer a number of pleasant surprises for the palate. Sometimes I had the impression it's more a lunch than a dinner, due to thin sauces and crisp textures, but altogether the quantity was plenty. Friendly, competent service. The main drawback is the dining room, which is visually unappealing and acoustically rather noisy.
Spent the evening at Hot Shop enjoying their nice tasting menu. We included the wine menu, and absolutely loved the pairing. Good food accompanied with delicious wine and warm service. Definitely coming back in the future
A nice local gourmet restaurant with surprisingly exciting menu. Only a five-course menu is served here, a surprise meny until you sit down at the table. Adjustments such as a vegetarian menu are not possible. But the food this evening was fantastic. An extra starter was first served while we enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine, creamy mussels on a sweet flatbread. Exciting both taste and texture, like the rest of the meal. The evening then was a voyage in great emulsions and mild tastings without disappointment, from celery bits with green sauce to dip, to super tender and tasty pieces of Norwegian lamb. A littele bit disturbing vas a somewhat high noise level thoug, and some linguistic communication problems with an otherwise pleasant waiter. If you have the time, I also recommend taking a tour of the small local bar next door for a drink or a glass of the on-site selection of wine.
