South of the Border Mexican Grill and Bar

Very clean atmosphere. The server was very nice. I liked the authentic Mexican food. 10/10.

The bartender is great (Erika) but my husband told me he had better steak fajitas. My food was good. The chips and dips were very good. 12/2/20 went back there and will not eat there anymore. The food was lukewarm and when chips came back, it was soggy. The bar was freezing, I couldn't get warm, no heat.

Server was friendly, unfortunately our food took quite long with just us and 1 other couple. Then it took a little longer than expected for our bill (was then only we in the restaurant) when we had empty plates and pulled them to the side. The food was pretty good.

The location itself has practically no parking space. The building is colorful and funny. The place felt a bit dirty, probably because the table was sticky. You have good cheap margaritas. A problem I noticed was a sign that said free chips and salsa with a Entree purchase. We have two entrees and never offered the chips. We should have talked, but the parts were very big and we wouldn't need it anyway. The staff watched TV at the bar and when we needed a box, I had to go to them and ask. Food was good for the price. It was also delicious.

I've been here twice over the past year or so. Both times the food was really good. This last time was about 3 weeks ago. It was pretty busy with a bunch of larger groups. The service was good, although our food did take longer than expected, even considering the amount of full tables. I will say that the servers were super friendly and kept our drinks full the whole time. The biggest reason I gave them three stars is due to general cleanliness. There were cob webs all over in the men's room and some in the dining area. They need to do a top to bottom cleaning, as well as fixing up some dings and dents. I will still go back as the food and service were good.
