After settling my account, I chose to leave, which I feel is ultimately their loss. I eat out often and spend a decent amount each week, so I never expected anything for free. I'm willing to pay more for food I enjoy. However, when a restaurant approaches me with a “too bad” attitude, it motivates me not to come back.
I ordered the oriental salad, which came with a roasted sesame dressing that turned out to be quite spicy—definitely not what I was expecting. I could only manage to eat a few bites before my mouth started to burn. The food itself was good, but it felt a bit overpriced. When I mentioned the dressing to the waitress and asked to switch to a different salad, she charged me the full nine dollars, explaining that she couldn’t alter the order just because I didn’t like it. I barely touched the salad, and while I can afford the nine dollars, I thought this was a poor business choice on their part. I paid my bill and left, considering it their loss. I dine out frequently and spend a fair amount, but I don’t expect anything for free—I just want to enjoy my meal. That said, if a restaurant treats me like this and has a negative attitude, I won’t be coming back.
