I really didn't care for the virtual check-in process. I had a feeling the opening of the door using a cell phone would be a problem and it indeed was. The operator on the phone provided me with a code to unlock the door on the keypad and that didn't work either. Thank goodness there was an actual key located within the lock box next to the door. I was at the resort for a short stay (2 nights), and the stressful check-in process ruined everything for me. Once I finally relaxed and unpacked, I noticed that there were no instructions regarding how to access the internet so I could unwind and watch TV on my Tablet. Unfortunately, this was after 11:00 p.m. on a Friday night and I couldn't reach anyone by telephone until well after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to get the internet access code for the resort. Since everything is done remotely, it would have been nice to include that information in the email regarding the check-in process and the request for the $100.00 credit card deposit. Lastly, around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night, I planned to iron my clothes for the Sunday affair I was in FL to attend, only to discover there was no ironing board in the unit. Of course, the time was well after 7:00 p.m. Saturday night, but I sent a text message to the number I'd received earlier in the day inquiring about my satisfaction of the stay thus far, to advise that the ironing board was missing from the unit. I received a reply message stating that housekeeping would provide me with an ironing board. Of course, no one from housekeeping came by that night, so I looked outside my door at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning but still no ironing board. As I was preparing to check-out, I opened the door at 9:30 to discover the ironing board next to the door. To my knowledge, no one knocked on the door. At this point, I was in the process of transporting my belongings to the car for the 10:00 a.m. checkout. The resort and unit were very nice but if I must go through this check-in process again, I will not be returning to Festiva Orlando.
I was set to check in on July 21 July 23 with an RCI stay. I called, as it suggested as I knew I would be in late. The details of how to proceed were straightforward, if arriving after 10:30 pm you will retrieve a key from a lock box. What they did not share though was the total disaster this would become. We spent 45 minutes pushing the call button and spamming calls on the phone before having anyone answer. Upon answering we were given several different codes that might work but the individual was not sure which box so suggested just trying them in all of them. When this did not work after we had spent over an hour trying to check in to no avail he suggested coming back in the morning at 9 am once some one was on shift because there was nothing he could do. That 's right, with a reservation we were told we could not get in until the next morning at 9 am. Absolutely worst service we 've had in a stay ever. Find somewhere else or you will be doing so at midnight on the night of your arrival, ya know or just wait 9 hours in the parking lot for someone to help you the next day?!
The amenities are really good, excellent location close to the gas station and Walmart. For us was a super plus the laundromat, the kitchen perfect, enough space inside the room for the occupants, however we reserve for 4 people and was just a queen bed and sofa.
Absolutely NOT. Firstly, the fact that there is no staff onsite is horrendous. No way to get extra towels or buy a drink or get any kind of help with anything. Second, I've never heard of a resort where you have to walk your own garbage through a huge entire parking lot to get to a dumpster-which was hard to open, just to get rid of trash. Next, there was no information posted about WiFi anywhere in the unit. So needless to say I had to place SEVERAL calls to a virtual front desk attendant to get help with practically everything, from the moment we arrived. Even just getting into the room was difficult. keyless entry wasn't working. I don't think elderly could stay at all bc of all of these reasons as well. Thank God the pool is nice. However definitely not returning. Some hotels provide better amenities and service than this. Shocked to even call this a resort.Safety: Nobody onsite so if there was emergencies find help else where.
