I had vegetarian Cous Cous with Ratatouille and soy fried chicken. Just fantastic!! The place opens until midnight... Only place in Osaka to be opened that late for a vegetarians... Bit far from the station, you might want to get a cab and tell the driver the address.
Great atmosphere in this jazz café. The lady who served us (owners? It was lovely, and the food was prepared quickly. I had herbal salad with soy meat chicken and a glass of Shochu. I would recommend everything on the menu, although it is worth noting that we arrived at 9 a.m. on a Friday and the place was empty. No big deal, I just thought I'd mention if a busy atmosphere is your thing. Updated by previous review on 2019-05-17
Google Maps sent us in the wrong direction, but once we found the place, it was nice to sit under the retro style and relax. The food was freshly prepared and delicious, the music was groovy 70s-style jazz and it was nice to cool after a great day of sightseeing.
On our trip to Osaka we found ourselves very close to Kujo station and decided to eat here. It was a wonderful experience around: Since the menu was only in Japanese, we arranged with our host for a set course mea.l. Cue successive dishes of salads, pimples and hot dishes, all proven delicious. The red wine also went well with the food, and the room itself was cozy, with lots of wood and comfortable armchairs. Very recommended. And just a short note as an answer to a review above that talked about the red light quarter. As I mentioned, we stayed in the area, and our street also has several storefronts that might have been involved in sex trading. But that felt in no way threatening, even if I was alone, during our stay of several days and for what it is worth, I mention this as a single woman. (For what it's worth, we've seen a few with a stroller on our evening walk to the restaurant. It is also very convenient on the Chuo line.
