Glacier 3000 - Ormont-Dessus

Schöner Ort mit Blick auf die Berge, eine unprätentiöse Speisekarte. Der Mann, der uns bedient hat, war ziemlich freundlich.

Ich war heute im Restaurant Botta auf Glacier 3000. Wir gingen ins Restaurant und ich fragte die freundliche Kellnerin, ob es möglich wäre, dass meine Tochter von mir isst, da sie kaum etwas isst. Sie sagte, kein Problem. Ich bestellte 1 Bier, 1 Ovomaltine, 1 große Flasche Wasser, 1 Raclette-Menü komplett und 1 Café. Als die unfreundliche Serviceleiterin mir dann die Rechnung brachte, sollte ich sFr. 32,- für das Raclette meiner Tochter bezahlen. Keine Möglichkeit, mit der dummen Chefin zu sprechen. Nie wieder, wenn diese Frau dort arbeitet. In meinen Betrieben würde sie keinen Tag arbeiten. Meine 4-jährige Tochter und ich zahlten dann 102,- SFR. Eine Frechheit, dieser Laden.

This is the most terrible service I have ever encountered. Bad service and arrogant staff. Although we had requested a table at the window, we were given a table in the center of the restaurant with bad lighting. We once again requested a table at the window side, as there was at least one free table. The service refused to give us that table, because a group of ten people had reserved (the tables were set for 3, 2 and 3 persons respectively and not for 10) and because „everyone wants a table at the window and it is impossible, you can come back at 14:00“. Luckily another table at the window got up at the same time so we asked for that table. However, we were told that the window seat was reserved. WHY ARE OTHER PEOPLE ABLE TO RESERVE WINDOW SEATS AND WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO??! After long discussions with the rude staff we finally got a table at the window; and the nightmare started. We waited 20 minutes for the menu and another 15 minutes until someone came to take the order (no beverages served to that point). This other service staff started to argue with us about the same issue (she first said we did not have a reservation, then she said we had one, but we didn’t state that we wanted a window table — pls see screen shot). Now, after feeding other reviews, it seems that this restaurant has problems with foreigners. If I could, I would rate 0 stars.

Das Selbstbedienungsrestaurant ist ziemlich gut und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Gletscher. Ich schätze es, dass mein Hund hier willkommen ist, mit einer spontan gebrachten Wasserschüssel und einigen guten Essensresten!

Fantastic view and food. Very expensive but the self service restaurant downstairs is excellent value. You eat here if you want a higher class dining experience so value is somewhat irrelevant. Service is excellent, as is the selection of Swiss and European wines. Champagne Fondue is truly excellent, a very memorable lunch.
