Hills Maple Leaf Restaurant - Orillia

Very nice place, local, cozy, service is 100%. We talked about the historical facts of the restaurant. Family has been running the business for generations. Food is awesome you cannot go wrong.

Been here for close to 100 years. Used to be a gas station and general store. Now it's a great breakfast and lunch bar. Usually busy at normal eating times. Good wholesome food, quick service and pleasant waiters.

Found the food to be very good and the service quaint and friendly. The place doesn't look like much but the locals recommended it, so I knew the food must be good.

Hills has been in Orillia for many many years. It was a great spot to dine cheaply and the food good and fast. It is looking really really tired now. Needs a huge facelift and maybe new menus. Ours was dirty and the floor too. Doesn't make you confident that the food will be edible if everything you touch has a bit of grime on it. We were too polite to walk out and the food was ok. I won't be back though.

This used to be a staple in my local restaurant stops however my last visits have shown me how truly downhill they are going. The quality has completely gone downhill - nothing even tastes homemade anymore (used to love the soup but just takes like canned now - im sure it is). Not to mention service - servers I have had for years are gone now - always the first sign that a restaurant is about to go under - when the loyal workers leave hope has been lost in my opinion. Replaced by incompetent and unhappy workers (not their fault, as im sure management is behind this downhill development). Ivve also heard that they are charging extra for simple things such as condiments without forewarning you! Such a shame. Had a long run though! Wont be going back or recommending any longer.
