Honestly I'm completely frustrated with this restaurant. I've been trying to call ahead for 2 hours today. They leave the phone off the hook and completely ignore takeout orders. I just got out of surgery the last thing I want to do is sit and wait around in a crowded restaurant for someone to answer the phone or even to acknowledge me as I come in the door. Food's good but the service is poor. It's too bad they come so highly recommended and you can hardly get in there. It's also not an accessible building so my disabled mother cannot get into the restaurant with her wheelchair because the doors are not to code and there's no automatic accessibility either. When I went in today to even order in person after trying for 2 hours to call ahead. I wasn't even acknowledged when I came in, they actually aren't as busy as they usually are when I come in and this is the poorest service I've ever experienced.
This restaurant is great. it is a bit “paved” inside, but the staff are friendly, eating is in house style and delicious. the portion sizes are respectable and the prices do not break the bank. Make sure the parking lot is very slippery in winter. this place is a reliable option for tasty eating in the area orillia. do not hesitate back!
I was in orillia for work and wanted a lunch, fast Google search recommended me this restaurant, did not know how historical this restaurant is, apparently they are in business for almost 100 years. it was very busy when I arrived and after waiting got a bit my place, I ordered her burger. buns were soft and floppy, patty was juicy and spiced perfectly, with malt cheese and crispy bacons made for a delicious burger. also my server was very friendly. highly recommended!
This charming, unpretentious diner is what I love in small towns. it is not trying to be something different than a place to eat delicious homemade comfort. it is unpredictable. you can find the standards here all day. they have breakfast all day, dinner, so they can order whatever they want, at any time. my companion I came for an early evening meal. we ordered suppen des tags: tomaten macaroni rindfleisch gerste. then I ordered salisbury steak, they the bruised chicken plate from the dinner menu. we have split between rings. the portions were so generous that we had to get a doggy bag. that was delicious. a scream at our server clara. she was friendly, attentive to the provision of great customer service. she has constantly reviewed us and fulfilled all our desires. accessible: 4 although it is all a flat, the washroom gangrings are tight when they use a mobility device. yet it is worth eating. definitiw will return.
