The Aperol spritzes were crisp and tasty, perfect for summer. The portion sizes were generous and the food was really delicious. I would give it a 4 out of 5 rating overall. The light bites were a hit, especially the farmer John cheese curds. They were perfect for sharing between 2-4 people. The only thing I noticed was that some dishes could use a bit more salt. The fried chicken sandwich was a standout at 4.5 out of 5. It was really delicious, with a crispy exterior and tender meat inside. I highly recommend ordering it if you're looking for something spicy with a little crunch. The orecchiette was also a winner at 4.75 out of 5. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of bite. The ingredients were beautifully combined, and it was a dish that left us wanting more. Our server was fantastic and very attentive. We wish we could remember their names to give them proper recognition. Overall, if you find yourself in the city, I would recommend giving The Ready Set a try.
Tina started with the Ready Set Go cocktail, which was really good but a bit on the sweet side. Randy enjoyed a Moon Man beer on tap. We heard great things about the cheese curds, so we decided to try them. The batter was light, but they lacked a rich flavor and weren't our favorite. The soup of the day was a delicious mushroom soup with chunks of mushrooms in a light cream base. For our entrees, we ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the meatballs from the appetizer menu. The sandwich was delicious, but the meatballs were just okay. The interior and ambience of the restaurant were great for a date night in Oregon. Our server, Mackenzie, was amazing and handled a busy evening with ease. She was quick to bring out our drinks and even remembered to bring mayo for Randy's fries. Overall, we were thrilled to have such a great date night spot in Oregon and look forward to trying more cocktails and menu items on our next visit.
I visited The Ready Set for the second time on a Sunday at 5 PM, accompanied by a friend who had praised their steak frites. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I paid $30 for a small, unseasoned steak cooked well done instead of the medium I had ordered. The frites were not warm, tasted stale, and lacked seasoning. My friend also noticed a decline in quality compared to previous visits. We had to ask for salt and ketchup, which should have been unnecessary if the fries were seasoned properly. The water glasses provided were small and frequently empty, with only one refill given. Additionally, there was an incident where patrons accidentally tried to drink old water from a cooler. The overall experience felt chaotic and disorganized, with food coming out late, improperly cooked, and overpriced. It would have been beneficial if management or the owner were present to address these issues, but unfortunately, they were nowhere to be found. I would have appreciated the opportunity to provide feedback to a manager, but none were available. Overall, my visit to The Ready Set felt like a scene from a Kitchen Nightmares episode, and I would not recommend it to others.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was great and I am so happy to have them in Oregon! The mushroom pate, cheese curds, and pizza were all delicious, and the drinks menu was also impressive. I would suggest adding 1-2 more options to the menu. I had initially noticed chicken dishes on the menu, but they seem to have disappeared. Despite this, I would definitely return for the food and the atmosphere.
The restaurant always serves delicious food. The service is top-notch and the atmosphere is great. We had dinner and it cost between $30 and $50 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 5 out of 5.
