Eetcafe The Paddock - Oranjestad

Nice spot right on the water. Jamila our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The view was beautiful and the jerk chicken was delicious. Price was not to expensive given the area.

After I went Diving today (pictures to come next week) I needed food with the little amount of time I had left before the cruise ship left. I didn't want somewhere super touristy and after passing on Lucy's, with the juicy Lucy, (because the Minnesotan in me came out) I decided to eat at Eetcafé the Paddock because they had food in the local currency on the menu. I found out that section is specific to the Netherlands. Pictured is the baked oven flat bread made with aged Amsterdam cheese and tomato and lettuce. I also had a sampler of Dutch snacks; frickandel (a Dutch mini mincedeat hotdog with a curry), a kroket (deep fried breadcrumbs and meat), and chicken nuggets. I thought the frickandel tasted like scrapple from the Pennsylvania Dutch region.

A little local Dutch restaurant. Right on the pier. Relaxing with a nice bar.

Nice place to have a drink, food was good too. friendly service! Nice service!
