Aside from them getting order wrong the staff took more than 15 minutes to even ask us if our order was taken. Then when they finally did they quoted us the wrong order. They took a new order. Our eating time was delayed and wait...More
Went here for my son's birthday. He REALLY loves Pizza Hut. We just moved to Orangeville and read all the terrible reviews but we went anyway. To my grief it's was how people have described it. We ordered the 2 pizza and pasta deal with a extra pizza. It took forever for the pizzas and there was maybe 8-10 other people. Our pasta didn't even arrive. When we asked the server see kind of looked at us blank for a second and said oh yeah..... I forgot. We finished our pizzas and left. During our meal we had no napkins and we were never offered a refill on our drinks. It's to bad but we will have to take the drive to our old location the next time my 9 year old son asks for Pizza Hut.
I ready the reviews already posted and I have to agree!! Everything mentioned we experienced tonight when we dropped in for dinner. I usually love Pizza Hut. Too bad!! What a let down. Saturday night and one other couple in the restaurant an it was slow.....it's lost its spark.
I was on route to an event in Collingwood with my family; we decided to stop at Pizza Hut because my husband really enjoys the stuffed crust and I really like the pan crust. We arrived around 6:30PM on a Friday and expected we’d be back on the round in about an hour give or take. The first indicator should’ve been when we arrived there was no greeter (there was a woman on the phone in the take out booth to the left but she didn’t take a moment to acknowledge us.) There was a couple sitting on the bench waiting patiently, so I assumed there must be host to seat. After about 10 minutes (of trying to entertain our hungry kids in the foyer waiting for host – she showed up) – by now another family has come in behind us.We finally were seated and our waitress took our drink order, two diet pepsi and two iced tea. She comes back with two iced tea, a diet pepsi and sprite maybe? Not sure – I didn’t order it. After a several minutes she finally came back with my pepsi. (we’re now about 7PM) – We asked her to order the children’s meals (my kids are 4 and 9) while my husband and I selected our pizzas. My 9 year old ordered the mac and cheese – oops, they are out of any pasta that is not a string (there is a grocery store next door – just saying if sell only pizza and pasta and I run out of pasta – I’m sending a staff member next door to pick a couple bags until we recover our inventory – I digress) … Ok, so he agrees to Linguine (in place of mac) and cheese. My 4 year old orders the kids cheese pizza. 20 minutes later we flag our waitress down and ask her to take our pizza order – we order a medium stuffed crust Meat Lovers and a medium pan crust Hawaiian. Nearly 40 minutes has elapsed since we ordered the children’s meals, we ask her what’s going on? And explain why we ordered their meals first (hungry kids are not happy kids.) She finally came back 5 minutes later with their dishes… which were luke warm (clearly they had been prepared and she let them sit and cool on a counter somewhere.) I was irritated but what was I going to do? Have the kids wait another 45 minutes for new dishes? (I will say the cheese sauce tasted nice, my the slight cooling shell it formed while sitting on the counter did keep the middle of his pasta warm – ick, sounds gross to say that though – albeit true.) My 4 year old can’t eat a hot out of the oven pizza anyway – so at least she could dive right in (silver lining) – they both enjoyed their food – but to be fair, they were also ravenous by the time it arrived. As our kids are now 1/2 way through their meals – my husband and I are still waiting on our two medium pizzas – the time elapsed since ordering at this point is at least 25 minutes. (our time stamp now – about 7:50PM – we were expecting to be wrapping up our meal by this time) We stop our waitress and ask where our order is? She professes how busy the kitchen, apologizes but seems a little insincere. We sigh, ok. She leaves. While our kids continue with their dinner, my husband and I look around… This is not a large restaurant, there is not a great deal of seating, not every table was occupied – what we did notice is the kitchen was clearly prioritizing the take-out orders – the in house staff spent more time huddled, chatting and laughing than they did taking care of the dining room … 20 more minutes have elapsed, my husband rather vexed gets up from the table to find the staff having their pow-wow (a hush falls over them)… he comes back to our table exasperated and they group of “workers” go right back to their socializing. We just look at each other – our children now finished with their meal, my 4 year old looks up at me and asks if we can go now? I look at her and say sadly say, “sorry hunny, daddy and I haven’t got our dinner yet.” She says ‘oh’ and actually looks sad for us. (so much for our family dinner) the kids continue colouring their placemats… we look around for our waitress and note that the two tables sat after us were served before us. In particular the table of 4 to our right was served apps, and mains, ate, paid their bill and left before we were served our pizza! Our waitress stops by – and I sort of let her have it. She actually seemed surprised – just a few more minutes she says. I say, ‘ a few more minutes?’ recapped everything we noticed, including that our children have completed their meals – pizza hut makes, pizza and pasta you should have the production down to a science how on earth does it take nearly an hour to produce two off the menu medium pizzas?! She says just 5 more minutes and heads to the kitchen – 20 minutes later! She shows up with a pizza for us (did she just run back and put our order in?) before she puts it down, she asks us “do you still want to eat it here?” – I look at her with the “are you kidding me look?” and puts it down (doesn’t serve the first slice – it’s a pizza hut thing – really I don’t care that she didn’t – their corporate might though) I take a slice of Hawaiian and, it’s got stuffed crust? *sigh – I ordered the pan crust … I’m thinking ok, so my husbands will be pan crust – it arrives, nope, both are stuffed. I look at the waitress exhausted and say – I ordered pan crust. (I’m clearly not waiting another 1.2 hours for a pizza so I’ll deal with it.) My husband said they changed the cheese – obvious a corporate thing, its stringy – but it’s also flavourless – cardboard? Plastic? Who knows. We didn’t get back on the road until 9PM. I couldn’t believe it. This family dinner ruined our evening. I had to pay our bill (although discounted) at the take out window, I just wanted to get the h-e-double hockey sticks out of that toxic environment but no, I had to wait in line to pay my bill – 10 more minutes – just to tap my card. Egawd! They will be pleased to know, that we will never be back – in fact, that’s it entirely for the chain for us Pizza Hut that’s all she wrote. I can see why the chain appears to be dying and why no funds have been put into refinishing the restaurants. Their staffs need training and management desperately. The whole Pizza Hut experience is a total and complete EPIC FAIL. – I guess their take out service must be good and keeping them in business? I would recommend do not dine-in. Just don’t do it! I honestly recommend using another pizza service entirely. Someone who actually wants your business, makes a quality product, makes it as ordered and has the inventory that is advertised. Just saying – call Pizzaville. They are our go-to place at home and are absolute rock-stars.
