New Food Bar - Orange

I've been to the NFB three times now. A friend took me to lunch there once and I was surprised by the omelette he ordered and recommended. it was served with GRAVY! Sceptical, I tried this unusual dish and found it to be very good.On the day of the review I was walking around Orange while my car was being serviced. i was tired from a poor night's sleep and a over intake of alcohol the previous evening. You know when you're hungover, the idea of a pie does not sit well in your stomach....What could I eat? I wondered... I remembered the NFB. Pho!Pho would cure the hangover and settle the stomach. Substantial and warming, Pho would hit the spot!The large, hot bowl of broth, noodles and beef took a while to be served, but it was worth it!Whilst some fresh herbs would have lifted the dish, the unusual addition of LETTUCE to the broth provided a contrast in textures. I am a fan of lettuce in soups, having been introduced to the concept in Greek cuisine.The broth was perfect, aromatic and nourishing. the noodles looked hand cut and the "velveted" topside steak in the dish was soft and tender. I asked for fresh chilli and lime, however there was apparently no acid available, the birdseye chilli was hot and lifted the dish.With a full belly and scalding lips i could not finish the dish.NFB does a beef pho (traditional) a 'crispy chicken pho or a combination of the two for two dollars more.Next time i'm going for the combo.In a big city i would expect herbs, lime (or at least lemon) and bean sprouts in any Pho. I hope to receive beef balls and tendon, but this is rare.In orange my standards are lower and the broth and noodles hit the spot.

Order "Mongolian Lamb and a lrg boiled rice" they packed everything into one container of standard serving size. They charged me the same amount off all business in area have for the dishes to be separate, I told him I paid for 2 dishes total, not one with 75% rice and 25% meat veg. He then got abusive, Refused to remake, refused to give me a refund, refused to give me the dish. He then rascally abused me for having white skin and have coming at me like he was about to punch me. I left, Police were called by me, This matter is now with fair trading, Be warned this guy hates white people and like to rip people off

This place it the absolute pits! I write this as I have given up on my cheese burger as it was dry, disgusting and only had half a slice of cheese on it - my partners burger with the lot was no better - chips are soggy and ****! The service was actually worse than the food. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE! I have so many regrets.

We just stopped in to get some quick hot chips and scallops...still waiting 20 mins later, the guy cooking coughing all over his arm, the shop isnt even busy!! Surely a takeaway shop can handle hot chips...apparently not. Will be binning our purchase and getting our money back!!

If you're in a rush, you can call ahead and pick up some Chinese food from the buffet, or you can choose to sit down and enjoy some Vietnamese soup. You also have the option to order non-Asian takeout from the other section of the restaurant. The prices are very affordable and there are a variety of specials available.
