Groundstone - Orange

Millthorpe is a very pretty village not far from Orange and worthy of a visit.

Among a few good looking choices in Millthorpe we picked this place, nice looking cosy atmosphereIt was a busy time and food choices limited.

Occasionally we find ourselves off the beaten path and Millthorpe was our destination today.

The day I visited this place it was very busy and a little noisy. Clean and tidy. Waiting for service a problem. Not that keen to return. But this may be to the case everyday.

I went here with some friends for brunch on the weekend. Our first point of contact was with a very unfriendly staff member who didn't acknowledge us standing at the counter waiting to be served - we had to ask! She was quite aggressive and definitely gave us the impression we were putting her out by being there. We all ordered the smashed avocado which was very tasty. We sat and chatted with our coffees, also good, for a little while after finishing our meals before we were told to leave! We understand there was a function on and our table needed to be used (although, how long does it take to wipe down a table and reset?!) but the staff member was very abrupt in her approach. Had she been friendly, we would have been completely understanding but instead left feeling very unwelcome.
