Sonny's Bbq - Orange City

We absolutely love this Sonny's location! We go there once a week, sometimes even more often. Anna and Erin are the best servers you could ask for! The food is always fantastic and is served quickly. The recent remodel has made the experience even better!

We made the rookie mistake of not checking our order before driving home. When we got there, we found only five slices of very lean brisket and five rib bones. The brisket was bone dry and didn’t even weigh 8 ounces—it was too dry to eat without covering it in BBQ sauce. As for the ribs, they had virtually no meat on them. The bones were trimmed so tightly that they could best be described as 'shiners'—essentially just bones with no meat to chew on. We paid $41 for this meal and included an $8 tip for the friendly voice, but we felt cheated. We didn’t receive a full pound of brisket or a full rack of ribs, and the preparation was disappointing. Honestly, trust your instincts; don’t leave Sonny’s without physically checking to confirm your order is accurate. Unfortunately, we learned this lesson the hard way.

The food met my expectations, and the service was exceptional. The ambiance had a charming local town vibe that felt cozy, despite the ongoing renovations!

Food was amazing and just so tender and good with the sizzlin sauce. The service was quick and nice. Lastly the outside is nice and the inside gives bob Evan's looks kind of vibes with a city bbq kind of smell. Just so good.

Since moving from SC to FL last August, I've only been to 2 BBQ restaurants Sonny's in Orange City also Porkies. They are both great. Sonny's is a favorite of my roommate. The food and portions are great reasonably priced. Great service and it's always clean and inviting upon each visit. I've only been to Sonny's on Sundays but always leave full and well satisfied.
