Le Moderne - Orange

After being ignored at a café further up the road we called in for coffees early afternoon. To be honest, wish we’d ignored this place. They were clearing up after the market opposite. Don’t think we’d eat here given the mess of stuff inside, on and behind the bar. It looked like a bomb had gone off. The baguettes were all cut up in baskets, curling up nicely ahead of the evening meal hours later.

This is a cafe/ restaurant street side next to the large parking area (paid) and Mercure hotel. Also close to the Opera. Nice staff. I had a cup of coffee here which was ok. Nothing to write home about. Seemed a very local place.

We stopped in Orange, France, for a lunch. We looked around and saw the restaurant Le Modern. The outside terras was full with local people. For us the reason to have lunch here. Food was simple, but nice. Wine was okay, so we ended up being happy with a small bill and a well filled stomach. Although the restaurant might not have the 'perfect ' look and feel to most people, staff was friendly, helpful and somehow lunchtime turned out to be cozy with the locals.

Only fresh and good, worked with taste by the chef. A good welcome. A good time with several price possibilities. Bistroomic
