Butoilul de Aur - Oradea

Old stale bread,bad smelling ribs, cheap sauces, bottled mayo, bored and unprepared staff, high prices for the quality it offers. All in all, if you want a lemonade, you can go there, but don’t try eating.

We arrived at this restaurant after a visit in the beautiful restored city of oradea. Because we were in the area we chose this restaurant. The service was slow and unprofessional. A young inexperienced waitress took our order. After 5 minutes another waitress arrives and tells us they don’t have the salads we ordered as they don’t keep that kind of things in house. I was surprised as everything we ordered was exactly from the menu. Is either they have a very old menu, or they try to sell what they want. Anyway the food was not that great either all the potatoes came from frozen bags. And the prices are really big too for the quality and the service they offer. It really seems a tourist trap. Be advised to think twice before you enter this place.

This is the kind of place that the older locals nostalgic for past glory days eat at. We have stopped here for lunch as well as for beverages. On our first visit we the service was fine but the food mediocre. Apparently older palates are less discerning. On our most recent visit the experience was less than desirable. Our group of four stopped by for beverages on our way to where we were staying. Our waitress who was apparently new to the profession kept forgetting what was being ordered as soon as it was said. Kind of funny since what was ordered was one Tequila Sunrise to which she asked how many ml was wanted. My wife had to show her the menu so she could see it was a featured cocktail! I ordered a beer and a Jack Daniel 's which really through her for a loop. No problem. It happens. The other beverages were just two soft drinks so that was easy. In all fairness no problem, it happens and we have all been new at a job once. The real issues came about that not only did our waitress disappear and after waiting 20 minutes for our check my wife had to go inside in search of our waitress. We were given another table 's check. Unfortunately, not until much later did my wife notice that we were still charged incorrectly since an additional beverage (Lipton tea) was added on. No one ordered or had it. The only reason the rating given is average and not poor is out of respect to the history of the establishment.

I got my dinner in this restaurant. The food was great! I had a really nice dinner. The waiters and waitresses are slightly slow, but it is an acceptable speed. The food is worth it!

We have been there with friends and childrens 8 adults, 7 childrens . Nice place in a good area... but because we want to eat, it was a very bad experience. First they said that some of the menu foods are not available, then we ordered and after 20 minutes they said that some of the ordered food is not more available... Is not possible to change the side dishes of menu, even if they don't have something from it... only they can change with what they want : Small size portions. Food is average. Hope to make some changes about service and food... because the place is nice.
