We went with friends for a menu del dia and wasn’t disappointed. It seems to me there are two types of menu Del dias in Ontinyent. One being aimed at the working man and priced around eight euros or so and one being a little dearer. This is the latter and was priced at 13 euros, which I don’t mind at all if it is of good quality and this was. I started with goats cheese salad which was followed by steak with chips. I will stop there and just say this, in my five years in Spain this was the best steak I have had on a menu Del dia! Tender and well seasoned. My wife had chicken which apparently was very good. We finished off with a lemon mousse. My only complaint about the mousse was there wasn’t enough of it but I suspect I am just being greedy! All this plus a drink was included in the price, coffee was extra. Lovely decor. Can’t wait to go again one evening and eat off the main menu.

My son and I had lunch there. At €12 for a three course set lunch, I thought it was a bargain. The food was of very high quality, even if the portion size with the main course was a little small. They did give me the wrong starter but soon realised their mistake, were apologetic and offered to change it. These things happen. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff helpful (they put up with my terrible Spanish so they can't be bad! A number of customers appeared to be regulars which is always a good sign.
