This restaurant has been here since I was born, and I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Some people say it's outdated, and maybe it is, but I still love the atmosphere. The prices are also dated, which is actually a good thing! It offers excellent traditional Chinese cuisine, cooked by Chinese chefs! You can still enjoy fancy drinks with little parasols since there’s a bar attached—one of those classic, cozy bars that the locals still adore. The owner, Mrs. Gin, who is proudly in her eighties, comes in every day to manage the place along with her son Gary. It’s located under the Old California Hotel, which is currently unused but was once a popular stop for everyday folks and movie stars alike, back when Route 66 and Holt Boulevard were the main ways to get to Palm Springs. In any case, everything here is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Don't miss the crispy noodles and almond cookies—they're the best!

We usually order our meals family-style, which begins with tea and fortune cookies, followed by a delightful wine soup and crispy noodles. We tend to order the same dinner each time: for under $10 per person, we enjoy the soup, along with several main courses, including Sweet and Sour Pork, Chicken Chow Mein, Pork Fried Rice, Almond Chicken, BBQ Spareribs, Fried Shrimp, Chicken you Gow, and Almond cookies. It’s our favorite combination. Each dish complements the others perfectly. By the way, the Chow Mein here is all vegetables—no spaghetti noodles in sight! They are very generous with their top-notch ingredients, such as snow peas and their signature sauces. We love celebrating special occasions at this restaurant and will be returning this weekend to celebrate our 35th anniversary with friends. We've created so many fond memories here, so please give it a visit; you won’t be disappointed!
