Excellently thick cut French toast 11 nov, 2013 in the middle of a sea of ethnic different restaurants, as well as fast and fast casual places, lies billy’s. a kind of stuck in a Bygone era, menu-wise, this diner still stutters. eating is strictly diner style, which means unfussy, but tasty. the only thing that is healthy on the food card is diarrhea. the service was fast. the atmosphere is quite pleasant as long as they do not look at the coarsely colored cover tiles that can border the reconciliation. (Come on, young, invest some bills to replace these suckers. they do not take credit or debit cards that are in this day and age bizarre, especially for west Omaha....read more
I've Never been disappointed here. The pancakes are melt-in-your-mouth heavenly. The service is great and attentive. They accept cash or check only, no debit or credit.
There is no large sign out front identifying the restaurant, just large red letters saying café. There is a small sign on the entrance door. Take the time to find the place, it is well worth the effort. This is a good typical old fashioned café. They serve good food, have good service and do not rush you out (a rare treat nowadays). We usually go to the one on blondo street, but decided to give this one a try. On a recent visit with a friend I had the gourmet browns (basically a hash brown casserole). It had ham, green peppers, onions, cedar cheese and an egg cooked inside of it. It was very good. The only change I would suggest is to put the cooked egg on top of it, instead of mixing it up inside of it. There is nothing better then breaking the yolk of an egg open and letting it run down over your food. My friend said that his sausage and cheese omelet was very good. We both had the 3 small pancakes with our meal. They were light, fluffy and flavorful.... read more
Of all the locations, this one is the nicest. They just remodeled, and it's nice and clean. The food is good so long as your only expectation is café food. They prepare it fresh, and the service is quick. The only negative is that this place gets noisy when busy. They keep the coffee cups filled. I come to Billy's often, and will continue to do so.
