There are plenty of well-maintained picnic tables, perfect for bringing your tea and sandwiches to enjoy a lovely day like we did. Additionally, there's a playground for children. Parking costs £5 for the day. We’ll definitely be back soon!
This is a lovely place to explore, with various paths to choose from—some meander through the forests, while others circle the lake. There are vibrant gardens, a garden center, a fun playground for kids, sculptures, and cafes to enjoy. Visitors can try their hand at archery or take a boat out on the water, or simply enjoy a leisurely walk while soaking in the surroundings. The highlight for me was the cheese and fluffy pastry from the café near the mill; it was the best I’ve ever tasted!
After exploring places in nottinghamshire, I found rufford abbey, just a short 30min drive from nottingham. it was fantastic. really beautiful gardens and country house, enjoyed being in nature and exploring somewhere new. it is a huge place and you could just spend the day here. eating was good and very reasonable. I loved it!
Really beautiful gardens, lots of space, beautiful ruins to foot, a beautiful lake, even dogs loud, what more could they want if it is all free, the mill parking machines were out of order, as well as, bonus.
