We at first went to the attached brewery and it was kind of dark and not very enticing. So we went upstairs to the bistro. It was nicer and had more than just a few local patrons. The service was good. We all had burgers and they were all very good. Drink and food prices were pretty good. Next time we stay in Oliver we will come back
Visited a couple of hours before closing on a Saturday night. Half their menu is chicken based. Unfortunately they had run out of chicken except for one leg or chicken strips. I decided on soup instead but no soup. Service was fairly slow. Table was sticky. Carpets were not clean. Seemed expensive for quality of food.
We ate at the Firehall bistro in early June. We took a table on the deck which was pleasant. Our server was polite and prompt. I ordered the cod and fries, my husband ordered the salmon. Big mistake! Coming from a place where fish and chips are a feature, we sometimes order when we travel, just to compare. Unfortunately, our meals were not good: bland, poor batter, and low quality fish. Perhaps other dishes are better, but I can’t recommend the fish.
But It went downhill from there. Server was brusque. We seemed to inconvenience her by our presence. Food would be mediocre for a truck stop. Could have saved us the gut ache by reading the reviews here. Frozen food prepared quickly. No flavour and expensive. The fire hall idea is a good one but they ran out of inspiration after that thought.
Excellent service from Savannah, Ribs were very delicious as were fries and zucchini/carrots but it was very hard to ignore the dark patterned carpet that was filthy black. This place needs a major cleaning!
