Old Chicago Pizza Taproom Olathe

The hostess was great. We were seated right away. The waiter was bad. The food had the potential to be great, but our waiter allowed it to sit so it was cold.

I made a reservation, and the place was not crowded, but it still took about 7 minutes to get seated and get menus. With 3 kids under age 10 and a fourteen year old that wasn’t great. The waitress was pleasant and friendly, but ditzy. I was the only adult at the table, but she asked three different times if we wanted one check or separate checks. The food was mediocre. In fact the baked manicotti made me sick that evening. My granddaughter’s cheeseburger was so greasy she didn’t finish it. I won’t go back.

When we checked in with our reservation we were told all their tables were occupied. I said that we had a reservation so the host went back and was able to push some tables together. We sat for 15 minutes before we were ever greeted by another employee. Thankfully our food was tasty.

Prior to today I had good experience here. I made reservations on Open Table at 2pm for 6:30 pm that evening for 6. We arrived at 6:15 and checked in. We waited, waited, waited all the while we watched other people coming in way after us being seated and not smaller party’s. After 45 min I asked when we were going to be seated. We had reservations at 6:30. Was told by who I think was the manager that using Open Table is not making a reservation. I said my name was on the list way before all these other people regardless of the Open Table reservation. He was unconcerned of our situation so we left. Never got seated. Won’t ever come back now. With service like this I don’t expect them to be open much longer. To the Open Table people, please remove this establishment off your list of choices since others have also said they do not honor reservations made with your app.

Good place to go with children. Good food with good variety to choose from.
