I really wish I had discovered this place sooner! It serves the best breakfast I've had in Kansas City, and I've tried all the popular spots. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was outstanding. This place has definitely taken the top spot for my breakfast needs. I'm looking forward to trying lunch and dinner here soon!
On a Friday night when most restaurants had long lines and waits, we were able to get a table right away at Foodys. I appreciate their unique ordering system. Although we only had water, it seemed that soda comes with free refills. The food reminded me of what my mom used to make—hot turkey on delicious wheat bread, paired with steaming mashed potatoes and gravy. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. They also offer alcohol, which is a nice touch. We will definitely return for breakfast. There were five of us dining together for the first time, and we each ordered something different; everyone was satisfied with their meal.
This was our first visit to Foody's and our meals for the most part were very good. One thing I thought was a little odd is that they give you a menu as you walk through the door. You have to comb through their rather large menu and then step up tothe counter to order. Again, this was our first time so we didn't know what to order. We felt rushed to make a decision. Wewere happy with the Chicken Fried Beef dinner, Breakfast burrito, and regular burrito. Our son got the nachos and they were sadto say the least. If you make queso to top my breakfast burrito, I would think you would also put it on nachos. Just mythought I guess, but the nachos were all chips with a sad amount of toppings. We will visit again but we will need to study themenu a little harder.
First time, but certainly not the last. We were greeted very enthusiastically by the owner. The service was top-notch and so was the food. My son has a nut allergy, so we have to verify that a restaurant does not use peanut oil. Frank (owner) brought theoil out to our table to assure us that they do not use peanut oil. 1st-class service!
