Although it was far from a fancy environment, the place was clean, almost spotless, and one of the workers was cleaning things that were already clean. The waitress spoke enough English to get by and was kind enough to let me practice my Spanish. They have a salsa bar in the corner with a spicy sauce that reminds me of a Mexican version of a sriachi sauce, rather than a tomatoey salsa. The tomatillo sauce actually had a kick to it and had more flavor than most, even taco trucks, have had. The torta I ordered had good, soft bread, FRESH tasting avocado that was spread on the bread, just the right amount of beans, and a nice cut of flank steak. Paired with the salsa, it hit everything I look for in a torta and in an authentic Mexican restaurant. I would like to go back and try other menu items like the menudo. They have jarritos, horchata, etc. as well. I paid five dollars and a little change for the torta and was full at the end of it.

I don't know why I never thought about reviewing this place however; we go there about once a month.
