Louie's Grill & Bar - Oklahoma City

This was my first trip to Louie's (at any location) and I am sorry to say I was disappointed.  I ordered the chicken fried steak w/mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.  First the steak-- it was very overcooked and dry.  I don't think it was hand breaded, either.  It was uniformly breaded with what seemed to be  bread crumbs, not the egg wash/flour mixture that I thought was de rigueur for authentic Okie chicken fry. The potatoes were real mashed taters, but the reason I knew that was because they were lumpy--usually not a problem for me, except that these lumps were a little hard, as if an underdone potato was used.  The veggies fared the best--they were done just right, not too crisp and not too soft, if a little under-seasoned. The other person in my party had the Reuben, which he said was good.  He did think the bread was under-grilled, however.  His "golden fries" were actually shoestring potatoes, and the two that I tried were pretty hard.  Maybe it was just a bad day, and I will try it again sometime--only order something different.

Great!. All the food and drinks are great and the staff is so friendly! Great place!
