The Purple Carrot - Okemos

We received exceptional service, and the food was outstanding. For our main courses, we tried the shrimp burgers, Walleye, pig bellies, and duck. The duck was incredibly tender, and the shrimp burger was fantastic. As appetizers, we had bread, mushroom risotto, and scallops, and the scallops were the best I've ever had. For dessert, we enjoyed roasted pear and meringue, both of which were delightful.

Red Haven has a contemporary vibe and offers high-quality cocktails and food. The duck stew was outstanding! However, the tacos were slightly overcooked and quite dry, but the waitress provided some sauce that improved them. Overall, it was a pleasant meal in a beautiful setting.

Great food, generous house wine, and attentive service. I absolutely love this place! They were kind enough to accommodate us without a reservation, which was a wonderful surprise in a packed dining room. The presentation was outstanding. We can’t wait to return!

It was an amazing experience. I recommend a visit. It has an open kitchen and everyone works well together. The dishes were all cooked for perfection.
