Maru Sushi Grill - Okemos

The sushi was outstanding, with a beautiful and eye-catching presentation. The service was excellent as well. As a first-time visitor, I received a complimentary appetizer. I can't wait to come back for my birthday weekend!

The restaurant features a modern interior in the kitchen. When we arrived at 5:00, it was bustling with guests. Both the appetizer and main courses were visually appealing and delicious. Although there was a slight delay in getting our food, it was well worth the wait. Our waiter also added to the experience with his warm smile.

Overall, the service and food at the restaurant were excellent. While I didn’t enjoy every dish I tried, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The highlight of the meal was definitely the dessert. I found the lighting a bit too dim for my liking, and the temperature was somewhat cool. The decor was lovely, and there was minimal background noise, which contributed to a pleasant atmosphere. The crab mushroom dish was outstanding. I also tried the Oceans 11 signature roll, which was good, though not as flavorful as I had hoped, and the spicy side salad packed more heat than flavor. The server was attentive yet not overbearing. There were some non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu; I particularly enjoyed the Mango Peach Pizz. I will likely return in the future.

The Maru Sushi Grill is an upscale restaurant. I would recommend reservations on weekends. The atmosphere and the ambience did not make a romantic dinner sad. My date and I were also disappointed at our hostesses disposition, it was that of a teenage wood if you want. She expressed this after our lack of reservations was given. The food was exceptional, our waitress was exceptional. Despite the loud fun of walking around us, we had a good conversation mostly to mock the fact that the table our waitress guarenteed was reserved next to us that we asked to actually sit at was empty throughout the meal. I will return to Maru Sushi Grill and give you the opportunity to follow the suit. Treat those of us in a way you would receive in return open from them. Live your dream.

This is one of my favorite sushi spots. The staff is always very kind and the atmosphere is nice. They also have pretty good options for vegetarian people. The Nirvana signature roll is insanely good and very filling definitely my favorite roll!
