Tomiko Japanese Steak House

Just moments from the beautiful beach along the Marina Pier at Holdfast Shores in Glenelg, you’ll find Tomiko Japanese Steakhouse one of Adelaide’s finest Japanese Teppanyaki restaurants specialising in premium cuts of beef and the freshest seafood. Since opening in 2011, Tomiko Japanese Steakhouse has attracted a valuable and extremely loyal customer base of locals and tourists alike, who visit time and time again for the highest quality Japanese cuisine, exceptional customer service and, of course, the beautiful location. On The Chopping Board (OTCB) was recently invited to Tomiko to experience Japanese Teppanyaki for ourselves, and we couldn’t believe we hadn’t visited sooner. All food and beverages were provided by Tomiko Japanese Steakhouse.

Great quality sashimi<br/ Delicious Miso and the coffin bay oysters were out of this world.<br/ <br/ Service was friendly, informative and attentive.<br/ <br/ Prices were moderate but well worth it given the location and high level of service.

Very nice location, very good table service and staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the 10 course degustation menu. Food seemed to come out very quickly almost too quickly to keep up. Food was fresh, flavoursome and well presented. Kitchen staff were very lovely and busy in the open kitchen. Very generous amounts of food the 10 course menu was so filling.

Had a wonderful meal here. The tempura oysters were fantastic. The crispy pork with caramelised sweet potatoe and the teppanyaki scallops were some of the best meals we've ever had. I just wanted to order another round of both they were so yummy. Service was faultless. Would come back again.

Came here after checking into our hotel, as our first night dinner in Adelaide. We wanted sake and we're feeling Japanese so we walked up the main drag along the water until we found this place. I looked up the reviews and noticed it wasn't high but we decided to give it a shot anyway.<br/ <br/ We sat outside which is ok, a bit noisy as the table next to us had about 6 people who were clearly drinking. The service here was not great, we had to wait a while each time we wanted to order drinks or food etc. <br/ <br/ We ordered sake and then decided to order a range of small tapas style dishes to share including chicken karrage, oysters, chicken yakitori, mixed sushi platter, and Gyoza. The food was surprisingly good, which was unlike what the other reviews had stated. Although the service was not great here, we still really enjoyed the food and ordered another small bottle of sake throughout the meal. <br/ <br/ This place did not have a premium Japanese restaurant vibe to it, although it did have a premium price which is a shame, although the food overall was quite tasty and fresh. <br/
