We came in for the lunch special. Fantastic service. Fast and easy. Affordable. Clean. Chicken and Broccoli and Sweet and Sour Pork. Egg drop soup. All very good.
This was our first time to Maple Gardens since they opened in Union Station. The food was great, and the ambiance is charming. We went for dinner at 5:30 on a Monday. There were maybe three other parties there. The hostess was very helpful and kind, but the manager, who took our order and delivered the food, made us feel like we were lucky to have a table and we’re on the clock. She had no patience with questionsabout the menu even though they were driven by dietary restrictions. She said she was in a hurry because she had to memorize our order. A pen and pad were a crazy idea, and we were the ones making our oder tough on her because we needed more information and one person ordered “out of turn”.If you’re on a mission to eat, this would be a good fit. In the future, we’ll stick with Maple Gardens Express on 12th street. Same great food in a setting where you won’t expect a higher standard of customer service.
This was the place we remembered from when they were in south Ogden on Washington blvd! They were excellent! Hot and sour soup was tasty, and so was the Szechuan chicken. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. They were also very reasonably priced. This place is worth your time and the location is great!
Humiliated my wife in front of our friends. We were one of four parties in the restaurant. The wait staff was terribly impatient, and rude to our table. We asked reasonable and polite questions about the meals, and I asked for chopsticks. We were met with hostility, and my menu tossed back at me. It takes no time or talent to be kind. There is no excuse to treat a stranger so awfully. We were so let down, as my wife and I had been planning to try Maple Gardens all week. What a let down. As a suggestion to anyone unfortunate enough to dine here, bring your own chopsticks- and maybe some boxing gloves.
