Restaurant und Weinstube Gruner Baum

Now, on Monday evening they have a limited selection. when we entered this restaurant, there was a denser smoke inside that you could hardly see (the half of the public smoked strongly, by the way I thought it was already forbidden in the eu, apparently I was wrong). this was the point where we should have gone, unfortunately we did not. we ordered french woof - it was average. the second floor was a shiny carving what we got was a normal panned fried meat and had nothing to do with a shiny carving. Maybe the witness had a wrong day - the previous visitors were mostly happy - maybe my expectations were too high, not sure .I can not recommend it definitiw.

3* . beautiful cottage with beautiful garden. they served our 10-headed group without problems. eating was good and unpretentious: carving, maul bags and even a few vegetarian options. definitiw good food, but does not stand out from the "good average German restaurants" ... if they understand what I mean.

In expectation to return to home the next morning, I wanted to eat a last traditional German in a beautiful environment. this restaurant has fulfilled my wish. my carving with bratkartoffels and a glass riesling was wonderful. the building is only 400 years old. the interieur was modernized, but still retains its traditional German style. the owners prepared a delicious meal and served it. they speak perfectly English and I enjoyed listening to their lives in Oestrich-Winkel. I will definitely come back with my next trip.
