A family anniversary was announced that we wanted to celebrate with a combination of lunch and a small trip. A friend had recently recommended Jannis Restaurant in Oerlinghausen. And since this is perfectly combined with a visit to the Oerlinghausen Open Air Museum, I also reserved a table. And so we arrive on Sunday half in the parking lot in front of Janni Restaurant. From the outside the building is rather inconspicuous, whitewashed, as well as the surrounding houses. To the entrance you come over a few steps, the right hand there is still a small terrace that is actually rather a balcony, but today is not managed. Inside it is beautifully bright. The facility is modern, but also welcoming. Unnecessary buckling is largely dispensed with and it is a Greek place that is at least not visible at the plant. The tables can be mounted as desired by a skillful folding mechanism. All tables are covered with white sets and white fabric napkins. When entering the restaurant we are the only guests who will stay on Sunday noon (for the evenings it is absolutely recommended to make a reservation as my friend who gave me the suggestion. We are welcomed by the owner (his wife is, as we know proudly from him, responsible for the kitchen and handbeat and can choose any table. When we sit, the candle is illuminated and the cards are distributed. On the map you will find 12 main dishes (Garnelen, Dorade, Loup de Mer, various variations of lamb, beef fillet and pork fillet – 17, € to 23,50 € as well as a handful of desserts, which are dependent on the day. Appetizers are not offered separately, an ordered main dish always includes a variation of different appetizers. As a supplement, there are gratinated potatoes to all dishes. Vegetarian offers are not available. On Friday and Saturday there are still changing day offers, but unfortunately not on Sunday for lunch. We are all fast to repair and even our youngest finds a replacement for the unofficial carving with pommes. When ordering, our questions will be explained in detail and patiently. Our youngster wants to have a small part that is not a problem, the boss even asks how many lambkotelettes it should be for him, and whether he wants to have another vegetables instead of beans. We finally order 1x piece from the young lamb with butter beans (small part 14, € 1x milk lamb fillets from red wine and lemon sauce (22,50 € 1x carrée from the pasture lamb with fresh vegetables (23,50 € 1x trilogy from the fillet with three kinds of sauces (22, € for drinking we order 2 small cola (0,2l per 2, € gratu) On the plate there is a small mountain of various leaf soalites enriched with some violet olives. Also a good part of a kind of peasant salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper onions and sheep cheese. Also thick beans in a spicy tomato sauce, inlaid red beet cubes and a good blow Tzatziki. I don't want to go into detail, just so much, the Tzatziki was heavenly. Gorgeous creamy yogurt enriched with sufficient garlic and that will be AndiHa, no cucumbers. The beans and also the Red Beet were, as far as I could definitely find that this was not a convenience product (if I were fooling myself, I would now be a fan of this brand. The included rolls were freshly baked, wonderfully murky and airy. When we were in the middle of dinner, the boss came to our table and asked if everything was okay and brought a plate with freshly baked sheep cheese bags. Not without mentioning that we should eat them as they taste warm. And yes, they were wonderful, even though I accept that the pastry was not homemade, but I like to forgive. The main dishes were then served after perfect waiting time. Lammkoteletten mit Butterbohnen On a small piece of beans lay the two pretty thick lamb fur. The bones were clean and the flesh looked very juicy. In the incision it was nice medium and there was no hard fat margin or a. The beans I was allowed to try were nicely cooked with light bite, lubricated with herbs and light buttrig. There was a roast sauce (the same sauce was also available for the lamb carree, which was so wonderfully bred and rounded as there was only a homemade sauce slowly pulled out of bone. Of course, I was not allowed to taste the meat, but the bones were cut off extremely clean, which I consider to be “very good”. Milk lamb fillet with red wine and lemon sauce On the serving plate were 5 lamb fillets in deer and limb, framed by red wine sauce on one side and lemon sauce on the other side. The fillets (my wife was so gracious to try to let me try, were wonderfully tender, fried in rustic and perfectly spiced. The two sours each served the meat a different, but in both cases very suitable taste direction. The red wine sauce was not like a classic red wine sauce, but fruity and with light acidity. The lemon sauce was based on butter and reminded me of a very lemony Hollandaise, only with a much easier taste. Trilogy from the fillet with three types of sauces Three types of fillet you can see the juicer on menus. However, a small lamb fillet is present on the plate instead of the usually used plaster fillet. There are also three different sauces as announced. This is the roast, red wine and lemon sauce already described on the other plates. The meat, a neat piece of beef fillet, a piece of pork fillet and the lamb fillet is very well roasted. The lamb rustic, the pig with only one touch pink and wonderfully juicy, the cow hardly medium. It would be too good for me to get rid of it, but for my grand it was perfect. The part was so tidy that even something remained (lecker! . Carrée vom Weidelamm with vegetables The lamb carree served as well as the lamb scales with beautiful, cleanly plastered bones. The section was more than enough with two quite large pieces. The meat was wonderfully fried pink and on the bone a slight trace under medium. Tastefully very mild, without muff, so tender that it did not break on the tongue, but only requires very simple efforts of the caustic muscle – perfect. There was also the Bratsauce. In addition, a herbal mixture of cauliflower, broccoli, paprika, zucchini and potatoes. The vegetables were tasted with an optimal bite and all well. Potatoes As a supplement to the main dish were 2 large plates with gratined potatoes (no classic potato gratin, i.e. thin potato slices flat on the plate, which were baked with some cream frogs and cheese. After we all sat well on the table and the head of the house cleared the plates, he asked if it could be a little dessert. At first we hesitated in the Panna Cotta with orange caramel (5,20 € we were weak. The alternatives would have been a homemade lime sorbet and the classic yogurt with honey and nuts. The Panna Cotta was to make it short one of the best I ever had. It has hit the optimum strength point, so that it just remains in shape and does not flow apart. The whole thing with a fine vanilla aroma. The orange caramel was also wonderful. With my boys it was short to order a second round dessert, but the capacity was unfortunately reached. Papa drank an espresso (1.90 € and with the bill there was an ouzo for the big and a lolli for the little ones. We were divorced by hand. Assessment and conclusion: This is very simple for me today. At least that day I couldn't find any criticism. Started in the facility, the really very pleasant service for the wonderful food. Probably, if the place is full of profession, will not be so much time for a chat with the guest, but the basic handling remains the same. Also on the subject of cleanliness there are no blows from me. It should be noted that the sanitary facilities are only accessible via a steep staircase. I was also very surprised at the price. You can first stumble on the fact that the cheapest plate is called with 17 €, but you need to calculate the appetizer board included in it. After we were all tired and happy to leave the place, nothing else remains to spread me around 5 stars. Oh so: definitely again, as soon as possible!!!
Jannis stands for a small but well selected menu of the highest quality. Each dish is a highlight. Potato gratin is served to the main dishes and there is a typical Greek starter plate. Better than eating are the great hosts! Next time Jannis
I have never eaten a better octopus salad in my life and then I exchanged with Jannis on Greek wines. How did that end? It was an extremely repetitive experience! But don't keep saying or sharing on the Internet, the restaurant is not so big
Very nice restaurant in a family atmosphere. The restaurant is owner-managed and you can see that. You are very kind, almost warmly welcomed. The service is top. Oh, yeah, the food. That was also a pleasure for the palate. The included appetizer plate has tasted very well. There are some solid desserts on the map and always recommendations for the day. We'll definitely be back.
