Like other customers, I found that the short, bald man seemed to really dislike his job. He did not know how to properly welcome customers and just stared at us, waiting for us to speak first. Even though I specifically told him my order, he still looked confused about what it was and whether it had been placed. It was as if he had never heard "thank you" before. The food was overpriced, cold, and the place itself was quite dirty. On the other hand, the gentleman behind the counter appeared to be a nice guy; however, he seemed to be experiencing some burnout. I hope management recognizes his needs and either fully supports him or offers him a different role.
We ordered a Margherita pizza, a Grandma pizza, and a regular pizza, and they were all delicious, though I particularly enjoyed the Margherita. We also tried the house salad, which was fresh and good. Additionally, we shared ravioli in a fra diavolo sauce that was absolutely delightful. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service and staff were excellent, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting!
I ordered a plain cheese pizza, but as I was eating, I noticed that it had pepperoni on it, which I don't eat. I didn't request pepperoni, so I called to address the issue. The person who answered wasn't sure how to resolve the problem, so I ended up hanging up and submitting my review.
I'm sorry to have to leave this review because we've been a customer of Pizzaola for 20 years, but there's something serious about the staff behind the counter. I'm just talking about the short bald guy. With more scams than one, he was awfully rude for my family and we were nothing but friendly, loyal customers. He has such an attitude and every time we go in there, he takes it on us. After our third bad interaction we, who ignored us when it was our turn, had to wait and not reacted with as much as a **** when we thank you for the pizza, we decided we had enough. Who treats their customers in this way? This disgusting behavior seems specifically directed at certain customers. We heard the same staff member who was nice to others who felt even worse. Although the pizza is really good, in principle we will not eat again. We also said that the staff of Pizzaolas is disrespectful and we may suspect racists. Such a shame, but a business should honestly take care of disgruntled employees and be nice to their customers. I wonder if someone else had similar interactions? Please like this review if you have. I'm curious.
Ate at Pizzaiola last Monday. The food was delicious but when I went to get bread out of the bread basket, I was shocked to see mold on it. The waitress insisted it was charred. Charred is black and this was green. Will not be going back. Just glad I had already eaten my dinner bc when I saw that, I lost the rest of my appetite!
