Reel Inn Restaurant Dock Bar

We used to adore this restaurant since we visit Harbor Island every year. It felt like our personal dining spot with poolside service. The servers used to be much more engaged, frequently walking around the pool taking orders. However, now it feels like anyone by the pool is an afterthought, and obtaining service has become a challenge. During each visit this week, the bartenders and servers made me feel like a burden to them. Something has definitely changed here, and it’s nowhere near what it once was.

We came across a variety of mixed reviews about this restaurant, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. Since it was conveniently located near our accommodation, we decided to give it a try. However, the directions and parking were a bit confusing. I recommend visiting their Facebook page, where they've shared a helpful short video for navigation and parking assistance. Locating the hostess was somewhat difficult, as the restaurant is situated within a rather upscale condo complex—just take a look at the luxurious boats lining the pier! It was quite hot and muggy outside, and we observed many affluent guests around.

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive! The food was outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

Our visit to the restaurant felt unwelcome, almost like we were imposing on both the place and the staff. Even though we made a reservation ahead of time and specified the exact number of guests, they seemed rushed, quickly moving chairs and wiping down tables that had been empty before we arrived. On a positive note, the food was quite good, especially the crab. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich, which was tasty but disappointingly small. I expected at least a pickle spear since the menu mentioned it came with chips.
