Gasthof Hollwirt - Obertraun

The meal I ordered was Austrian. I arrived late and was served a nice portion of bratwurst and kraut with potatoes. It also came with a nice piece of cake for dessert and was moderately priced. Would recommend. Also nice atmosphere.

Wederom prima bij Hollwirt gegeten. Bediening is altijd erg vriendelijk ook voor de kinderen en gerechten zijn smakelijk en goed.

Der Höllwirt ist unser Lieblingsrestaurant in Obertraun - das Essen ist hervorragend, das Personal sehr nett und kompetent - alles was wir uns ausgesucht haben schmeckte vorzüglich ! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder .........

Der Höllwirt ist bei unserem Urlaub in Obertraun sofort beim ersten Besuch zum Stammlokal geworden. Die Küche ist bodenständig und lecker. Wir waren fünfmal dort und es hat immer geschmeckt. Die Tageskarte ist abwechslungsreich, die Preise sind fair.

My wife and I rented a small house in Obertraun, as we wanted to visit not only he Ice Caves in the mountains above the village, but we wanted to also see the city of Hallstatt.We wound up arriving after the local grocery store had closed, so we hiked down to the Hollwirt Restaurant to have dinner. The menu is primarily authentic Austrian and German cuisine, and everything we have had has been fantastic.The first night I had the wiener schnitzel and my wife had the same, the portion size was huge but it was so tender and nicely prepared, that we both agreed that it was an excellent meal.We came back the second night due to our experience the night before, and this time my wife had the duck and mixed vegetables, and I had the dumplings stuffed with various meats on top of sauerkraut. Both meals were again very, very good and the service was prompt and friendly.If you are ever in this part of the world, do yourself a favor and try this restaurant, it is relatively inexpensive, and considering the top quality of the food, we would return here without a doubt !Reasonable selection of beers and wine, and the apple strudel is quite good !You may find some differing opinions about this restaurant, I don't know what their issue is or was, but our experience was that the food was awesome, the service staff was extremely friendly and prompt, and they went out of their way to make us feel at home.
