Karatsbichl - Oberstdorf

Stopped on our way to have a coffee and cake before setting off back to UK. Nice little place. Good food and coffee

The Karatsbichl Restaurant outside of town, built ages ago, specializes in fresh trout raised on the property in a cool mountain stream and pond. Over the years the restaurant owners were town leaders and world-class skiers, as many mementos on the walls attest. We had...a great meal, and some unusual choices like roast kid (no not the human kind but the goat kind raised on their farm). The place is a bit out of town, but easy to find with local help. It is with the search, if you like an atmosphere from yesterday with food and drink from today. Call for reservations.

During our visits to Oberstdorf we visit Karatsbichl on a regular base. Quit terrace with a great view over the mountains and a nice playground for the kids.

Nice terrace with a stunning view. We have had a lunch here. The kids had a great time playing around. Only opened at night at thursdays and fridays. So if you want to go for a dinner, you have to keep that in mind.

Very nice atmossphere, fantastic food, very nice people. We got invited by friends that live in Fischen, we are from Holland, and it was a very good choice. They use local ingredients and food and also they made the restaurant like that. We will go...back there again for sure.
