Her paella is Mexican rice, which is marveled with some overcooked seafood. it is far from the authentic paella it in eastern Spain. we have lobster and seafood paella and I have never seen a lobster that was still small. my man ordered a glass of wine, but the server opened a new bottle and brought 2 glasses. we felt bad, so only paid for the bottle, but I wonder if it is a possibility to get more money from tourist, as the cheap bottle rioja cost us $360 pesos. the worst part of my experience was his atmosphere because of the bar kutta next door, which was so loud techno music. they turned the volume up while we eat and there were only 5 people in this bar.
We´ve been in Puerto Escondido many times and love going to this restaurant. The fish is very fresh, charmingly cooked by the owner Gotxon, originally from the Basque Country. Great service excellent drinks too! A must is: Lobster Huachinango a la guetaria. Prices...are very accessible too. If you´re in Puerto, this a place to go. And try the coco loco drink, which is a fresh coconut with rum or gin... great experience and a beautiful view of Zicatela beach.
Went out last week with our family to the Donosti restaurante for Paella. We had been told that it was really good. We had the paella with lobster. It was great. The service was excellent, the atmosphere, everything you could ask for. Xavi was our...waiter and he knew the menu front to back and was very helpful and professional. The reataurante had a singer doing old tunes while we ate. Very romantic, good music. I would recommend the Paella to anyone who likes seafood. We will be back for more. Rick
We went to Donosti on one of our first nights out in Zicatela. The service was exceptional. We started out by watching the sunset on the deck drinking mojitos, and the owner gave us a complimentary russian salad to enjoy with our drinks. We ended...up staying for dinner, and had some of the freshest seafood yet. The fish was fresh from the fishing boat, and cooked impeccably. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, and both the owner and waitress spend some time talking with us between meals. They also offered us a free shot of mezcal after our meal. It was such a lovely evening, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that anyone in Puerto Escondido go to Donosti to watch the sunset and enjoy the hospitality and food.
