Basil Box - Oakville

Chris truly exceeded my expectations during my visit to Basil Box today. Even though they were set to close in 20 minutes, he prepared steak, chicken, and tamarind sauce for me. His customer service skills are impeccable. Thank you, Chris!

I always order the Regbox with rice and meat, so my review is solely based on this dish. I really enjoy it, and the restaurant cooks fresh steak for me whenever it's running low. There have been one or two occasions when the steak tasted a bit off or the rice was too tough. However, considering how often I’ve had a great meal here, those issues are minor and haven't deterred me from returning; I just prefer my steak and ingredients to be super fresh. The service is consistently friendly and accommodating, and portion sizes are generally consistent, though there can be slight variations depending on who is serving on a given day. Overall, I recommend this location. I would rate it 4.5 stars because there is some room for improvement in food quality, but the staff is truly excellent.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and graciously offered a complimentary meal replacement to make up for the mistake. I’m happy with the service and would definitely recommend visiting this place, especially if there’s an issue with your order. Thanks, Peter from Basil Box!

Loved her tofu curry as I am a veggie lover. Very recommended. The place was clean and well maintained.

Service and workers are friendly and polite although. Food is very random when it comes to quality. I?ve been to this location many of times. Although at this point in time more so than not it is unacceptable. Ie. hair in food, expired cheese curds in poutine, extremely under cooked rice, over cooked chicken hard as a rock. PS no response from owner asking me to email them.
