Rumbo Al Sur - Oakland

One of my favorite local spots offers consistently delicious food, and their cocktails are both creative and fantastic. If you can't find a cocktail that suits your taste, just ask the bartender, and they'll whip up something to delight your palate. The service is always friendly and unpretentious, making for a great atmosphere.

Came here for dinner and my first impression is that this would be a great place to go after work or with a group of people. The restaurant is set up with large tables and different rooms. The atmosphere is loud and friendly. It was a nice evening and the large windows were wide open to the street, giving a nice semi-outdoor feel. There's also a patio to eat outside should the mood strike. Most of the menu is tapas-style. The food is a bit on the expensive side, so plan to spend around $25 per person not including drinks if you do tapas all around. The two of us had chicharron chicken, chicken enchiladas, and the butter lettuce salad. The chicharron was grilled perfectly with the delicious sauce--very tasty. We should have ordered a fourth dish because I was still a bit hungry when we left. The staff gave us very friendly and attentive service with a smile.

It's definitely worth a visit for the homemade chips and guacamole. The bar has a pleasant atmosphere and is usually quite vibrant. I've tried several other dishes on the menu, and they've all been excellent, but the chips and guacamole truly stand out as exceptional. Overall, it's a fun neighborhood spot to enjoy.

The drinks were fantastic, but the atmosphere felt quite yuppie. The restaurant offers upscale Latin and Mexican cuisine. The large open windows add a nice touch.
