It was a lot of food for a pretty good price. The string beans were my favorite, pretty delicious. I would not say that this is a place I would often go, but certainly if I were in the mood for Jamaican foods. Would like to see Ruck Tofu on her menu!
I had the pleasure to eat here during a special catering event last Saturday. Of the items in rotation, there was a handful of vegan options to try for me. Mixed green salad similar to the organic spring mix found at Sam's and/or Costco. They add red green peppers and a delicious vinaiigrette. Simple yet good as a food starter, although I wouldn't buy it. Plantains sweet and savory; perfectly cooked. Curry vegetables over jasmine rice Yummy flavors and many bright vegetables, but I prefer a little more spice in my curries. rice and peas of classical rice and peas; they were good, but not exceptional. BLACK PEPPER TOFU! Yeah, all the caps because it was so delicious that I scream inside and just think about it. This court was actually the second court to come out and I was so obsessed that I stopped making pictures of the other courts. This tasteful little dish is served over white rice. I was a little pinched that the meat eaters eat all vegan food (they had a lot of their own meat dishes, so after the event, I waited until the restaurant 5pm opening hours and ordered 2 more orders of Black Pepper Tofu to go along with 2 orders of Spicy Green Beans. (The green beans are also really delicious. food prices are appropriate; drinks, not so much. A small glass of Ginger Beer (not alcoholic was $5, that is a bit much, IMO. In terms of service, a young male waiter was exceptionally brilliant and helpful. The big male (also a bartender seemed slightly annoyed at any time we asked a question, and a young female waitress (she was not present during the catering event, but was there during dinner at 5:00 had a SERIOUS setting problem. Apart from that, I had a pleasant experience in Kingston 11 and will return for more Black Pepper Tofu!
Visit from New Orleans, decided to give it an attempt, and it was delicious, I and my family all ordered the oxtail stew, all four of us enjoyed it very much. The engraving had a fine sweet taste, but it was also tasteful. So delicious. If you happen to be in the area, it's definitely worth a try. Oh, yes, and the music they play in the background is a nice calm mood. It's like Island Hip Hop Music
First stay in Oakland. Kingston 11 was over the street from our hotel. This restaurant is AMAZING!!!! The service was phenomenal. Server went out their way to explore the menu with us. She gave her opinion on the various articles and she was on the point. Delicious dishes and drinks I recommend the cured goat. Everything came out quickly. If you're here, you have to try.
Them Oxtails tho! Whew Chile picks her up! They were so boldly spiced! Drop the bone and melt in the mouth. I'd give them 10/10. The white Sangria was so good and for Dessert we had the black cake or cake (I cannot remember the name), but it was really good. Didn't like the fishballs, but it was the texture for me. Services were great and the restaurant is beautiful and spacious. It was very busy. We went on a Saturday at 6:30 and there was no time to sit down. You also play music so you can really survive while you are there. Remember, the Ruck Chicken is a dry rod, so if you are like me and how sauce on your chicken ask for it on the side. Absolutely come back?
