Takara - Oakhurst

I almost didn't go to Takara because of the negative reviews, but I'm so glad I ignored them and had a chance. I don't know what these negative critics were talking about. The food was EXCELLENT!! Hibachi is so much fun! The portions were huge and we all received even portions as you can see in my photos (1 of them was taken after I had taken several bites of steak and vegetables). Everything was beautifully aromatized and nothing needed additional seasoning. We ordered Sushi appetizers, a cocktail and hibachi entrées. We asked for water and were offered a selection of taps or bottles. Kosher food is more and more expensive, but this is expected. The prices were on par with other kosher hibachi and you pay the same or more for kosher steak everywhere. The Maschgiyachs even placed the meat on the Hibachi Grills themselves! Usually in restaurants you never see the Maschgiyach, so it is nice to know that they are actively involved in ensuring that your meal is properly treated. Since hibachi is so much fun for children, I want to see that they add a children's menu. We had to order my child an adult meal, but remnants will be enjoyed tomorrow! We moved to NJ from NY about 2 years ago, so we have very high standards when it comes to restaurants and food, and Takara is not disappointed!

Food was delicious, as entertaining as the food is cooked right in front of you! Great customer service. The best place for dinner!

Friendly staff very nice management especially they have vegans hibachi special .we order vegan shrimp poke bowl for appetizer so....yummy. Then we ordered vegan shrimps. Beef and vegan scallop are great taste. Love it. We will try again more vegan specialties thanks to Takara

Woman and I had a great dinner there. Everyone is so beautiful and the food is delicious. We want to get our family there. If you've never had Hibachi, it's worth the experience.

Whenever I personally go the place is dead which is fabulous because our food comes out very quickly. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and presented in a beautiful form. Their koifish pond with bonsai is a beautiful relaxing view especially with the waterfall built in it. This place has a full bar as well and their cocktails are delish. Overall I love their food, the speedy service and the atmosphere. Totally recommend dining in as they also have hibachi.
