Rivi's - Oakdale

Love holds a delicious wines and delicious plates. I like the fact that the menu items often change; ADORE the cheese plates and desserts; and feel very at home in the welcoming atmosphere. Live music evenings are a treat like the open courtyard in the back. Cosy in winter, and a pleasure on a beautiful summer evening. The waiting staff makes great wine proposals and is very knowledgeable and attentive every time I have been there. Beautiful place to pick up with friends and enjoy freshly prepared food and a glass of wine. The menu is not extensive (this is a plus for me), but the variety makes it easy to find something for everyone. And everything I tried was delicious.

Chris and I had dinner at Rivi last night and it was fabulous, from appetizers to dessert. A jewel in Oakdale with Bay Area Food, an atmosphere that is relaxed and all very welcoming. We've been for appetizers who left us for dinner and we weren't disappointed. Started with the crabs and shrimp cocktail, which is not disappointed, fresh, beautifully plated and delicious. We had both escaped the lamb, which, as Canadians and British, were brought to lamb and constantly looking for the properly boiled roast lamb, were blown away from this duck! Perfectly roasted and softened from the bone, served over the smoothest cheddar potatoes with beautiful solid boiled carrots (Neither normally eat boiled carrots, as they are usually too soft) Broccolini and surrounded by pan juices. BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED and one of the best lamb dishes we had since the move to California, hands down. We've been here for 19 years! We're in this duck we had in Napa, Sonoma, Bay Area, So Cal. Tahoe. After we lacked dessert, I had the flourless chocolate cake that was light, decadent and a perfect choice to finish my meal. Chris had the white chocolate bread pudding and I didn't hear a word from him until it was 5 stars! Rivi 's is also a great place for a glass of wine and a cheese board, appetizer or two to immerse. We had this during our first visit, and I know that we will go back on many other occasions either for a fabulous dinner or just a light snack and drink. We have family and friends in Canada and Great Britain who visit annually and we will definitely bring them to Rivi so that they can see what a jewel we have here in Oakdale! What a fabulous place! Very friendly management, super helpful waiting staff with great recommendations! I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is amazing and we are safe back! (I cannot wait!

We stopped in for just a quick visit to reserve Malia 's graduation dinner and we were impressed. I will return in a week for a final review. .............. We loved Rivi 's! We had family from Oregon, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz County area join us for dinner, and we all agree Rivi 's in Oakdale is the best place in town . The menu is simple with an elegant touch, food was delicious and unique, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for my baby girl 's graduation dinner: classy with a touch of a western flair. It 's a restaurant that sets itself apart from all the other restaurants in town. It did not have a commercialized or redundant feeling. Thank you for creating such a wonderful place that Oakdale should be proud of!

First time at this place Denise and myself loved the At home feel we got from everyone there. Our Server Vincent was very patient with us not ever being here before. We found the wine selection to be very nice. Along with the owner a nice guy named Rivi coming over to check On us we had great conversation with him . This is a great place with nice help and we liked it very much........ Props to you all Michael
