Hearthstone Inn Boutique Dartmouth/halifax

The worst ever! Rooms: Filthy and smelly on/off hot water which trickles out of taps and shower dangerous to use. The lady who managed the breakfasts was great. Safety: Unsafe area and appalling hygiene I think this place needs to be pulled down! Walkability: If you like rough areas and taking your life in your hands. Noteworthy details: Woken at 2:30 by people in next room making a racket. Phoned reception no action. Got dressed and went to reception at 3:30. Not a good environment for decent people.

This place was disgusting..smelly. dirty, and the door wouldn't close, told reception, but was never fixed. Floorcwasn't swept. Never believed the advertised pictured rooms. As ours was very very low end Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1

I don't know why Expedia is showing this so-called hotel when searching for a stay in Halifax. The smell is terrible, the outdoors and indoors are almost the same, very dirty. There are drunks in the front, drinking and smoking. We were offered drugs then later two very drunk guys offered us a job in construction. There was no hot water in the bathroom, the AC or whatever that is, was loud like a helicopter taking off but stuck above your head. The remote for the TV worked only for turning off and on but nothing else. The elevator is very small and it looks like it was built for ants. I could not sleep, woke up at 3am then checked out at 6am. The guy at the front desk didn't say a word when we were checking out. It felt like being in a horror movie. Again, the smell of the entire hotel is something I won't forget for a long time. Don't trust pictures and false advertising about the free breakfast, parking and WiFi. The staff is clueless and doesn't talk much. Avoid at all times.
