Sarah Brown's Comfort Food - Oak Bluffs

We were so excited about this black owned experience and prepaid $140 ea. weeks prior to our vacation. However, we basically got nothing. After patiently waiting 2 hours and ten minutes for our food and only received 3 slices of corn bread in which we divided amongst the 6 of us. They weren't even apologetic. We eventually left and spoke to the owner to get our money back. I really give them zero stars. But I couldn't leave a review with no stars being highlighted.

We were very excited to support this business but the service was horrible. Attended an All White Dinner Party event where we selected our menu more than a month before. They were not prepared. The dinner was scheduled from 7-9 pm. At 855 pm we were still waiting for dinner but the only thing we had an appetite for at that point was our $140 per person money back. Instead of sharing what happened, I will comment on what should have happened. 1. First 10-15 minutes. A greeting to the guests and expectation setting.... "Please let us know when everyone in your party has arrived and we will collect your table menu selections on the form that has been left on the table. "2. Distribute waters and take drink orders. Start collecting menus as tables indicate all parties are in attendance (first 15). Have someone in charge of beverages. 3. 730p (latest) cornbread and plates 4. Refresh drinks. Maybe deliver another shared plate to the table. 5. 740-800 plates should be hitting the table. As groups eat/finish start dropping off the desserts. Communicate!! If you are short staffed. Tell us upfront. Own it and acknowledge it! It makes for a better experience. 7-9 should not mean dinner at 10. It 's not that hard.

Sarah Brown's is worth the wait!! The food is absolutely amazing and the customer service is phenomenal!! I love the new location. It provides a nice intimate setting!! There are so few Black owned restaurants and Sarah Brown's is the only one on MV. It is on my list of my go to places when I come to the island!!

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Sara Jeans with my sisters prior to enjoying the fireworks! It was a comfort food fine dining experience! Coincidentally, the only Black owned restaurant on MV. So if you want to eat an amazing meal, listen to good music and enjoy a family like vibe- checkout THE Only Black owned restaurant on the Island! You will be glad you did!

Loved everything about Sarah Brown's!! A Black-owned restaurant on MV that is well worth the wait! If you've waited in line at the infamousLinda Jeans for breakfast..don't hesitate to wait for an amazing meal and fun experience at Sarah Brown's!! Owner is very personable and makes sure all patrons are enjoying their experience! Soul food that comforts the Soul! Thank you so much Sarah Brown's! Can't wait to come back next year!!!
