This small restaurant in Oak Bay is consistently busy-which in itself speaks volumes.The ambience is good and the service careful and attentive.However the food is just disappointingly average.I had a caesar salad to start-just felt like having a caesar!-it was bland and uninteresting-McDonalds does a better salad!Then went with the chefs pasta of the day-once again bland and uninteresting-have eaten much more interesting pasta in Boston Pizza for half the price.Half way through the meal tried to remember why haven't been there for over a year and remembered the previous uninspiring creations from this kitchen.Madam owner-you need to speak with your chefs-there is a lot of competition out there.

Four of us went for dinner. Two had the chef's special, one asked for a "chef's surprise" and I had fish. All were quite good - pleasant presentation, appropriate portions without being super-sized, quite tasty.Service was very good.Apparently it has new management as our friends had been there before quite a few times (they live nearby) and they were impressed with the service and food quality.

This tiny restaurant is always busy and reservations are necessary as there is nowhere to stand and wait if you drop in. The menu is varied and interesting - there is something for everyone. A good wine list and great service. I recently enjoyed the Thai Yellow Shrimp Curry - it was delicious and shared a yummy apple bread pudding topped with salted caramel sauce. Also good coffee. If you want to have a romantic or very private conversation, this is probably not the place as the seating is very tight.
