Pompeii - Nuevo Casas Grandes

They would never know from outside, that is a very nice restaurant with an impressive menu. we arrived at successive nights with big parties (we were next to the hacienda), we had two parties and at the first night together in the second night. it was clear that we overwhelmed them, but they treated it professionally. very beautifully made sangria, the margaritas seemed to everyone's lust, they had a quite complete bar. eating was excellent, lots of seafood with an Italian Mexican fusion style. all very tasty. some reviews say it's a bit expensive, but it's just a dollar or more than other places in the opposite. not complaining here. the staff was very friendly, and tried hard to understand our poor Spanish. recommended a good choice.

We were a large group and we ate several restaurants in the city during our visit. this is the only one I chose for the review because it was by far our best meal. it's a little strange to me that the...pasta is served with truthahn, but the one that had it said it was good. I had a good steak and several had the laughs. a beautiful bottle of wine can be difficult to find in the city, but the selection here was small but good. Mexican wein is not widely used in the usa, so here is their possibility to have a bottle from a very good weingut in the baja. try the l. a. cetto cabernet. service and atmosphere are beautiful and uplifted for the city. buen procho!

We shared the Greek salad and Shade and Sun Shrimp (tamarind and mango salsa). That was about But then we splurged on the wine: crianza from Rioja region, Spain. but worth it.

Fancier restaurant, with great food. I was amazed at the great service, and the quality of the food.

While touring Mata Ortiz, we stopped here for dinner. It is a pretty restaurant. The menu was varied with turkey, fish and beef entrees. There is a vegetarian lasagna. Since I don't eat meat, I asked for the chipotle pasta without meat but with steamed...veggies instead. They were accommodating. The dinner did not include salad, but did come with an excellent cup of asparagus soup. My pasta was luke-cold and had a mild, chipotle spice. There were of us dining and I guess they wanted to serve all entrees together?
