Alexandria Mediterranean Cuisine - Novi

I made a reservation through OpenTable, but when we arrived, there was no table reserved for us. The staff explained that they weren't prepared for our reservation yet. Unfortunately, they did not apologize for the inconvenience. We were seated at a table that was wet, and we ordered appetizers and main courses. The bread with garlic sauce was tasty, but the garlic flavor was overpowering. The lamb grape leaves had very little lamb and were mostly rice. The hummus with lamb was enjoyable and paired well with the bread. We ordered the shawarma chicken, lamb, and kebab platter for one person, but our waitress accidentally entered it as three entrees for two people, resulting in extra food and a higher bill. The service was subpar, and while the food was not terrible, it was not outstanding either. I am surprised by the positive reviews this restaurant has received recently. There are likely better Mediterranean options in the Novi/Detroit area with superior service. Additionally, the music selection at the restaurant was inappropriate and did not match the dining experience we expected on a Friday evening.

Additionally, the restaurant should consider changing their music selection as the somber songs did not match the atmosphere of a Friday night dining experience.
