Boca Pizzeria - Novato

My wife and I used to go to Boca pre-COVID when we wanted a nicer dinner, and we always enjoyed it. Last week we decided to order it for take out and I'm not sure what changed, but we were really disappointed with the Bolognese we ordered. Normally Bolognese is very flavorful, meaty, and saucy. The one we got barely had any sauce and was generally mediocre. For a nicer dinner (and based on what we used to have at Boca), I expected much better. On the plus side, the meatball appetizer is really good!

Salad was ok, but asked for oil and vinegar type of dressing. They did not have. Everything had dairy. They are not vegan friendly! I'll go next door next time!!!

The pizza I ordered was not cooked properly. The dough was still wet and raw.When I returned the pizza, the manager told me that she could not authorize a return, and that I have to wait until morning for the general manager to call me. I paid $34.91 for a very small pizza (they only have one size), and I didn't even get to eat it.I will update this review accordingly tomorrow.UPDATE*I did not have to wait until tomorrow. The general manager Omar called me, and he very graciously refunded my money. Omar was so kind and understanding, that I do want to give Boca another shot.Thanks for being such a courteous professional Omar!I will update my review after my next visit.

Where should I start? like the other reviews. this place tries too hard to be uplifted and trendy. it looks like a chain restaurant. the only thing I like is the seating set on the sunny day. I live in nyc, so I might be a hard critic, but the pizza here was such a disappointment: this is not what authentic Italian Neapolitan style pizza is. the pizza was just hard and boring. homemade mozzarella? the mozzarella was hard and rubbery. the chicken sandwich was ok, the pesto was delicious. the chopped salate was an awkward sortiment to aromen that did not come together. the service here was not consistent. the waitress was so rude. we came for...more
