To our disappointment, we discovered that the restaurant was closed due to illness. We wish the owner a speedy recovery, as they are truly the best option for last-minute shoppers.
I had been a few times in the past, but didn't realize it was time to visit again. Today was the day. We were the only ones there, which was surprising. The coffee was delicious, as were the toasties. My daughter enjoyed her toast. There were many choices on the menu, including paninis, salads, and baked potatoes with various fillings. There were also gluten and dairy-free options, as well as soy milk available. The prices were very affordable and the staff was friendly. It's important to support independent businesses like this one.
Beautiful personal, very clean and peaceful location, timeliness and large windows for people watching. delicious coffee (with my soy milk and spicy lemon-butt bread! will be for more!
Its been a while since my last review. So visited to go get warm on a summers say. And I have to say nothing has changed since my last review still a high standard of products and great friendly customer service. Always polite. Latte hot...and fruit and nut slice was amazing.
Popped in here for a quick coffee before going to explore the castle and walked out minutes later vowing never to go again. Myself and my husband can only have black coffee and at purchasing stage, the woman was rude as we were debating...whether my husband can have sugar free syrup or not (we are on a specific diet) and then later, when the coffee arrived, they tasted absolutely awful. They tasted burnt and it wasn't drinkable at all. I don't usually mention things in restaurants etc as I usually just let it go and not come back but this was really bad. I said to the girl behind the counter that our coffees tasted burnt and that there may be a problem with the machine and she told me it wasn't possible, they're not burnt and I'm wrong! Now that's just rude to essentially tell a customer they are lying outright without discussing it properly. I might have been wrong but the coffee still tasted horrendous and we should have been treated better. We left, left the disgusting coffee and will not go again. I only went there as it looked like I was supporting an independent and not a chain, I think I will go back to the chain coffee shops, both for better coffee and service.
